Rajasthan Public Service Commission, also known as RPSC, recently issued an important press note on 09 January 2026. In this notice, RPSC officially released the syllabus for the Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services Combined Competitive Examination (Preliminary and Main).

With the release of this syllabus, candidates no longer need to remain confused about the examination pattern and subjects. Now they can easily prepare their studies according to the officially prescribed syllabus.

The syllabus PDF is available on the official RPSC website under the syllabus section. It has been released in both Hindi and English languages for the convenience of all candidates. The syllabus for both Preliminary and Main examinations is included in this PDF.

Rajasthan RAS Preliminary New Exam Pattern & Syllabus

The Rajasthan RPSC RAS Preliminary Examination consists of objective type questions for a total of 200 marks and is conducted only as a screening test. The exam level is based on graduation standard and includes questions from General Knowledge and General Science. The duration of the examination is three hours with negative marking of one-third marks for each wrong answer. The paper contains 150 questions, and the syllabus covers Rajasthan history, culture, literature, tradition and heritage, Indian history including ancient, medieval and modern periods, world geography, and general science, with detailed topics provided in the official syllabus.

Rajasthan RAS Mains New Exam Pattern & Syllabus

In the RPSC RAS recruitment, candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Examination will be selected for the Main Examination in the ratio of fifteen times the total number of vacancies. The Main Examination will be a written examination consisting of a total of four descriptive papers. The questions will be analytical and descriptive in nature. Candidates will be required to attempt all the question papers prescribed in the syllabus, which will include short, medium and long answer type questions. The standard of General Hindi and General English will be of Senior Secondary level. The time allowed for each question paper will be three hours.
