1. One Project Coordingator - 10 Months Duration- Hyderabad Based- 10,000/- Per Month
Qualifications - M.PHIL / Currently Enrolled For PhD, preferably in Anthropology or sociology.
MA sociology/Social Anthroplology, M.Phl. (or higher degree)

REQUIRED - Research Skills, especially fieldwork experience in health research, Good Language Command in Telegu and English. Required traveling in Hyderabad city and surrounding areas, to coordinate a team in fieldwork and prepare field notes.

2. One Research Coordinator - 10 Months- Delhi Based 8000/- Per Month-
QUALIFICATIONS - M A Sociology/Social Anthropology, M.Phil. (or Ph.D) preferably in Social Sciences with health as an area of study.

Applications are invited from senior, middle and junior economists for a project entitled “Socio-economic Study of Rainfed Agriculture and Low Input Animal Husbandry in India”.

The Economic Research Unit based at the Centre for Studies in Science Policy, Jawaharlal Nehru University is mandated to undertake macro-economic analyses, simulation modeling and case-study based analyses to improve our understanding of the functioning of rainfed dryland agriculture and its possible macroeconomic contribution in India. The objective of the Research Unit is to build an evidence-based case for directing more public investment to rainfed areas and the precise form such investment should take in the relevant sectors. The project is funded by the Ford Foundation and will run through December 31st, 2012.

A series of positions are being filled over the next few months, ranging from junior researchers to senior fellows. These are not time-bound positions, and hence applications are invited on a continuing basis.  

Successful candidates will need to have a PhD in Economics and some combination of experience of conducting field surveys, demonstrable abilities with statistical and econometric packages and a reasonable publication record.  

Salaries  for the respective positions will be awarded as per agreed upon in the final project budget. for clarifications please feel free to contact the Project Director

Applications are invited for the following purely temporary position in a DST-PURSE Programme at the Special Centre for Molecular Medicine, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi -110067

One position: SRF
Qualifications: M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Life Sciences or related fields with two years relevant research experience. Candidates should have practical experience in Molecular/Cell Biology techniques and cell culture. Preference will be given to the candidates with published papers in peer-reviewed journals.
The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the DST-PURSE Programme. The initial appointment will be for one year which can be extended on the basis of the performance of the candidate.

Emoluments: As per DST-PURSE guidelines & JNU rules.

Required project fellow for UGC major project entitled “ India and central Asia: links and Interactions Through The Ages”.

Post: Full-time Project Fellow
Period: 15 months

Essential Qualifications: M.A. in Central Asian Studies, or M.A. in History, or M.A. in International Studies, or M.A. in Russian Studies, or M.A. in Russian Language, or M.A. in Political Science, or M.A. in Archaeology, or M.A. in Culture Studies, or in other related fields.

Desired Qualifications: Specialization in having studied /Knowledge of/having Previously worked in the area of studies related to Central Asian Countries that were part of the erstwhile USSR.

Other Qualification: Good Computer Skills, Proficiency in English, Knowledge of the Russian Language or other Central Asian Languages.

Stipend: Rs.8,000/- per month
